“Israel’s nature, from Dan to Eilat”

We’ll “travel” to Israel on Monday, February 20 when Dan Landa, one of our current shlichim (emissaries) from Israel, will present “Israel’s nature, from Dan to Eilat” in words and pictures. Dan has BA’s in psychology and business management from Ben Gurion University in Be’er Sheva, Israel. He is a Guide Manager for the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel (SPNI) in Be’er Sheva.  Founded in 1954, SPNI is Israel’s oldest and largest environmental organization.  He is a volunteer for Beit Hagalgalim (The House of Wheels), an NGO that works intensively with 350 children, teens and young adults with severe physical disabilities to provide them with the essential life and social skills needed to integrate into Israeli society.  Currently Dan serves as the full-time Israel fellow at the University of Wisconsin Hillel.  As a Shaliach (emissary), Dan brings a commitment to helping American Jews develop and maintain their sense of Jewish identity.  Among his many duties, he had the enviable one of leading a “birthright” trip to Israel over the recent winter break.
